The VAT number checker validates European VAT numbers directly against VIES, the official EU registry. Enter a number such as NL123456789B01 and see whether it is registered, and for most countries the company name and address on file.
Verifying your customer’s VAT number is a requirement for zero-rated intra-EU supplies. The tool keeps a local history of recent checks so you can document that you performed them.
